Side Blog

Posted by David Chart on April 10th, 2009

I’m trying to set up the blog to allow me to put short articles in the sidebar, where I can talk to my readers without messing up the flow of the story. This is, hopefully, the first such post, but all it says is that I’m trying to get it set up. If you can see this in the sidebar, and not in the main body, then it worked.

Episode 26 Done

Posted by David Chart on April 11th, 2009

I’ve just finished writing Episode 26, which you should see towards the end of June. So, I guess I’m just over eleven weeks ahead at the moment; that’s a good length of buffer to avoid breaks in publication.

Of course, I can’t say anything about Episode 26 without spoiling the story for everyone.

Re-plotting

Posted by David Chart on May 23rd, 2009

I’ve just finished redesigning the plot for the parts I haven’t written yet, the last sixteen. I decided that the plot I had mapped out was too repetitive, and didn’t make enough use of several elements I had introduced, not all of which have been published yet. I’m happier with the structure now. Of course, I still have to write the parts in question, so maybe I’ll become unhappy with it again.

Incidentally, the side blog is back. It should be easy to go on to the next part of the story after this important message from the author.

OK, maybe not that important.

Tell Your Friends!

Posted by David Chart on May 27th, 2009

If you’re enjoying Tamao, please tell your friends about the story, and send them a link. My best guess from the statistics I have is that I have around 70 readers at the moment, which isn’t enough for the story to be economically viable in any way. It’s not even enough to pay for advertising, which is why I’m trying to get free advertising out of my readers.

Word-of-mouth advertising is also the best kind, apparently.

Thanks!

First Donation

Posted by David Chart on May 31st, 2009

Today, I received the first donation for Tamao. Thank you. (I’m not going to say from whom, unless I’m told I may.)

All donations are greatly appreciated; the convenient button at the top of the left hand side bar takes you to a donation page. They pay for me to keep writing Tamao, rather than abandoning it to work on something more financially viable.

Thanks again to the first sponsor.

3 Months’ Buffer

Posted by David Chart on June 12th, 2009

The buffer is back over three months, after it got a bit short while I was replotting the final section of the story. The new plot seems to be working out well so far, as well. So, as long as my web host doesn’t have problems, you’re guaranteed daily updates until September, at least.

Ice Yearning

Posted by David Chart on July 4th, 2009

If you’re enjoying Tamao, you might also want to look at my other novel, Ice Yearning. It has a completely different setting, characters, and publication model, but no doubt certain aspects of my style carry over. You can read the first two chapters online. The rest will be released when I get more money for it; that’s the different publication model part.
