Visa Extension

I got my visa extension today. This is just another three years on the spousal visa; still no news on permanent residence. There wasn’t really much doubt that I’d get the extension, since I clearly meet the requirements, but it’s still nice to actually have the visa in my passport and the record on my gaijin card.

As normal, after waiting for over an hour in immigration, the actual process was over in about five minutes, including walking upstairs to buy the revenue stamps to pay the fees. The whole performance took a whole morning, though. I needed to go to the ward office to get another document, then from the ward office to immigration, then back to the ward office to record the change on my gaijin card. Quite a lot of the morning was spent in motion…

Still, one morning to get it all done is not at all bad. And, of course, it is now done.
